How Often Should You Groom Your Cat?

Do you groom your cat this much?

How often you groom your cat depends a lot on their coat type—but most cats need some regular help, even though they self-groom. We've giving a guide depending on your cat's hair length.
Short-haired cats (like the British Shorthair):
Brushing: about 1–2 times per week
Helps remove loose fur and reduces shedding
During spring/autumn shedding: increase to 2–3 times per week
Long-haired cats (e.g. Persian cat):
Brushing: ideally daily (or at least every other day)
Prevents mats, which can become painful and hard to remove
Other grooming basics:
Nails - Trim every 2–4 weeks (depending on how fast they grow)
Teeth - Aim for brushing a few times a week (daily is ideal if your cat tolerates it)
Eyes & ears - Check weekly and Clean only if there’s visible dirt or discharge If you struggle or need guidance, we'd definitely recommend booking in a local professional grooming session!
